The course is designed to make the students familiar with different types of Production, plant layout and material handling, operations planning and control, inventory management, quality management etc. and to acquaint them with appropriate tools and techniques needed for understanding the operational situation and also understanding the logistics management.

Operations Management: An Overview, Definition of Production and Operations Management, Production Cycle, Classification of Operations, New Product Development, Product Design, Plant Location, Layout Planning

Unit II
Forecasting as a Planning Tool: Forecasting Types and Methods, Exponential Smoothening, Measurement of Errors, Monitoring and Controlling Forecasting Models, Box- Jenkins Method. Productivity and Work Study, Method Study, Work Measurement, 47 Basic Concept & Philosophy of Supply Chain Management; Essential Features, Various Flows (Cash, Value and Information)

Unit III
Recent Issues in SCM: Role of Computer / IT in Supply Chain Management, CRM Vs SCM, Benchmarking Concept, Features and Implementation, Outsourcing-Basic Concept, Value Addition in SCM-Concept of Demand Chain Management. Production Planning Techniques, Routing Decisions, Line of Balance, Scheduling Types & Principles, Master Production Schedule.

Inventory Management: Objectives, Factors, Process, Inventory Control Techniques - ABC, VED, EOQ, SED,FSN Analysis. Basic Concepts Of Quality, Dimensions Of Quality, Juran’s Quality Trilogy, Deming’s 14 Principles, PDCA Cycle, Quality Circles, Quality Improvement and Cost Reduction- 7QC Tools and 7 New QC Tools, ISO 9000-2000 Clauses, Coverage QS 9000 Clauses, Coverage. Unit V
Logistics Management: Logistics as Part Of Scm, Logistics Costs, Different Models, Logistics Sub-System, Inbound and Outbound Logistics, Bullwhip Effect In Logistics, Distribution and Warehousing Management. Purchasing & Vendor Management: Centralized and Decentralized Purchasing, Functions of Purchase Department And Purchase Policies. Use Of Mathematical Models For Vendor Rating / Evaluation, Single Vendor Concept, Management Of Stores, Accounting For Materials.

The online delivery blends synchronous and asynchronous components. Students complete self-directed assignments hosted on the course platform. Weekly Forums support a required active, rubric-based student contributions that foster collaboration.

Evaluatioun

Exams may include essays, short answers, or MCQs. Formats include open/closed book. Time zones are considered. Assessments are formative and summative. Students have 2 weeks to review grades and must follow the appeal process in the Student Handbook.

STEP 1: COMPLETE YOUR ONLINE PROFILE
Complete your online profile on the online campus. During this process, you will confirm your essential profile information to accept the offer.
Access the EBU scholarship online campus here https://connect.ebulux.lu/
Click the ‘Join EBU/Log In’ button on the homepage. You will need to create a new account.
During the Account creation process, you will be requested to indicate how you heard about the program and to select the partner organization on a drop-down list. If you found EBU by yourself, please simply write 'EBU' in these fields.
Please note as you create a new account, make sure to use a password you can easily remember.
After you create the account, open the link sent to your email for confirmation and then click continue.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE COMMITMENT FEE PAYMENT
To enroll in the Autumn Term courses, go to the Certificate Enrolment page: https://connect.ebulux.lu/mod/page/view.php?id=48775
Select the course you would like to enroll in and click ‘Enroll Now’.
Select Payment Type and click proceed.
Enter the promotion code: EBULLL25 and click Apply code. Copy and paste the code to make sure it is correct. This will adjust the fee from €740 to €100.
Enter card details to complete the commitment fee payment. Once you complete your application and commitment fee payment, you will be enrolled in your selected course and ready to commence.
