This training provides an overview of the key EU regulations and market standards governing capital markets activities, with a particular focus on the life cycle of a bond. It offers a practical perspective from the viewpoint of a financial market infrastructure, specifically, a stock exchange, highlighting the regulatory and operational aspects of the bond market.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

Describe the main stages of the securities issuance process and transaction lifecycle
Understand the basic structure of EU capital markets and the role of key market participants
Identify the core requirements and purpose of the Prospectus Regulation
Explain the key principles and practical relevance of MiFID II, including investor protection and market transparency
Recognise the main obligations under the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and their importance for market integrity
Connect EU regulatory requirements with practical capital markets activities, including issuance, trading and disclosure Assess how market standards and regulatory obligations help support transparency, fairness and investor confidence in EU markets.
