Technician's Diploma (Diplôme de technicien - DT)
Adults who discover or rediscover a desire to learn a trade or a profession or change their professional prospects may obtain a DT through a sandwich course under an adult apprenticeship contract.
Five DT are available under adult apprenticeship contract in accordance with certain conditions:
The 4e and 3e classes of the DT Administration and business are also offered in evening courses and/or in the French-language scheme.
The DT is aimed at very advanced vocational training and gives the learner direct access to working life.

Administration and business

Possibility of attending the training in blended learning mode. - 4e and 3e in evening courses at the LTC
- 4e and 3e in evening courses in the French-language scheme at the LTC
Sale and management (access reserved to holders of a DAP Sales consultant or a similar diploma) - 1re in company and in the secondary school offering the training (LTL)
Vegetable farm manager(access reserved to holders of a DAP) - 3e - 1re in company and in the secondary school offering the training (LTA)
Aircraft mechanic - category B - 2e - 1re in company and in the secondary school offering the training (LTPEM)
Logistics - 3e - 1re in company and in the secondary school offering the training (LTB, LTL)

Adults who wish to complete their secondary general education can also obtain a technician's diploma through validation of non-formal and informal learning (Validation des acquis de l’expérience - VAE).
DT Administration and business
Adult apprenticeship
The training leading to the DT Administration and business may be attended under adult apprenticeship contract as from the 1re (last year of training) , provided that all the admission requirements as below are fulfilled:
- Be at least 18 years old,
- Have left the initial school system (or initial apprenticeship contract) at least one year ago,
- Have been affiliated with the Luxembourg Joint Social Security Centre (Centre commun de la sécurité sociale – CCSS) for at least 12 months, based on at least 16 hours per week.
Training proposed under adult apprenticeship contract is structured as a sandwich course:
- Training at school in one of the secondary schools offering the DT of the administrative et commercial division (LNB, LTB, LTC, LTL, LTMA, EPMC, EPSA, EPF, LNW, LTETT, LLJ, MLG, ALR)
- Modules within a training body to be obtained while working for the company with which the applicant has agreed an apprenticeship contract. The company must be authorised to train apprentices.
Adult apprentices are paid the statutory minimum wage.
Applicants for the adult apprenticeship must submit their application in person to the Vocational Guidance Service of the Employment agency (ADEM). The application is submitted to the Advisory Committee for a decision: the applicant will be informed of this decision by letter. If the application is successful, the adult apprentice having found a company to train with, contacts the Vocational Guidance Service of the ADEM to obtain the required documents to enter into the apprenticeship contract.
The adult apprenticeship contract can only be concluded between 16 July and 1 November of the apprenticeship year (exception in 2020: 31 December 2020). Class attendance is determined by the linguistic knowledge required by the training.
Training may also be attended in blended learning mode combining online and classroom courses. Interested applicants may contact the secondary schools offering the training.
Evening courses - 4e and 3e classes
4e and 3e classes of the training leading to the DT Administration and business may be attended in evening courses and/or in the French-language scheme.

DT Logistics
The training leading to the DT Logistics may be attended under adult apprenticeship contract as from the 3e (second year of training), provided that all the admission requirements as below are fulfilled:
- Be at least 18 years old,
- Have left the initial school system (or initial apprenticeship contract) at least one year ago,
- Have been affiliated with the Luxembourg Joint Social Security Centre (Centre commun de la Sécurité sociale – CCSS) for at least 12 months, based on at least 16 hours per week.

DT Aircraft mechanic - category B
Training to obtain the DT aircraft Mechanic, category B, is certified by an international EASA 'Aircraft Maintenance Licence' (AML) of category B which allows its holder to work in all the EU member states and in all the member countries of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).

Admission requirements
- Be bound by an apprenticeship contract with an airline,
- Hold a Vocational Aptitude Diploma (DAP) as an industrial and maintenance mechanic or an energy electronics technician or have passed a 2e class (3rd year of training) in the technician's scheme, in the mechanical or electrotechnical divisions,
- Have good command of the English language as the training is entirely in English.

Training at school (LTPEM) for the type A licence lasts one year and leads to a Professional Aptitude Diploma (Diplôme d'aptitude professionnelle - DAP).
DT Sale and management
The training leading to the DT Sales and management may be attended as adult apprenticeship as from the 2e.
Admission to the DT requires prior successful completion of a DAP as a sales consultant or of a similar diploma or of a 3e DTCM.

- Training at school in a secondary school offering the DT Sales and management
- Modules in a training provider to be gained through the job performed in the undertaking with which the candidate has concluded an apprenticeship contract. The undertaking must be entitled to train
apprentices.
Applicants for an adult apprenticeship should submit their application in person to the ADEM's Vocational Guidance Service. Applications are submitted to the consultative committee for its decision, which is notified to the applicant by post.
