Objectifs

  • Assess your level of comfort when facing conflicts and disagreements.
  • Understand the value and benefits of a “good” (constructive) conflict.
  • Practice effective communication skills in conflict situations.

Contenu

Conflict is a natural and useful part of teamwork. Yet many people feel uncomfortable with disagreements or are unsure how to turn them into opportunities for improvement. This session helps participants develop a constructive approach to conflict, fully aligned with the seminar’s objectives.

  • Understanding your personal relationship with conflict: Reflect on your comfort level, identify your instinctive reactions and become aware of the patterns that shape your behaviour in tense situations.
  • Recognising the benefits of constructive conflict: Explore why conflicts arise, what triggers them and how they can strengthen collaboration when handled effectively.
  • Interpreting behaviours in moments of tension: Learn about the “default model” (stupid or malicious) and how our assumptions and biases can escalate conflicts unnecessarily.
  • Creating an environment where healthy conflict is possible: Draw inspiration from Patrick Lencioni’s work on the importance of productive disagreement within high-performing teams.
  • Practising clear and respectful feedback: Use the DESC model to express your needs assertively and constructively, even in sensitive or emotionally charged situations.
  • Exploring creative conflict-resolution tools: Discover simple techniques and helpful “go-to phrases” that support smoother communication and more positive
