  • Can understand simple class instructions
  • Can understand simple questions about identity (name, address, nationality)
  • Can spontaneously understand and participate in (classroom) discussions
  • Can understand and follow basic communication in English about various topics
  • Can understand simple quantitatve information (address, phone, numbers)
• Reading
  • Can recognise basic English expressions or words and find their synonyms or antonyms
  • Can answer questions related to a basic English text
  • Can read an English document out loud
  • Can read and understand a basic English text
• Speaking
  • Can use basic expressions of greetings
  • Can communicate in the past tense (asking and answering questions)
  • Can communicate in the present tense (asking and answering questions)
  • Can ask and answer personal questions about identification
  • Can deal with simple numbers
• Writing
  • Can write complete sentences describing for example daily routine or likes
  • Can write correct questions and answers in English
  • Can identify and use the correct tense (past/present) for the appropriate situation
  • Can write about situations or events taking place in the past
