Objectifs

In order to be able to carry out their missions, PFS must be aware of the increasing number of regulatory requirements applicable to regulated entities in Luxembourg (AML/CTF, MiFID, prudential requirements, corporate governance, etc). This training gives you an overview of the Luxembourg PSF market and provides explanations on the main prudential requirements applicable per PFS activity stemming from the investment firms regulation and directive.

By the end of the training course, participants will be able to:

  • understand the key components of the prudential framework under IFR/IFD;
  • understand the classification of the investment firms;
  • understand the principles behind the capital, liquidity and concentration requirements;
  • understand the transparency requirements (reporting and public disclosures);
  • discuss the key challenges and consequences of these regulatory requirements for the investment firms.

Jean-Philippe Maes - Partner (Regulatory Compliance Services)

Jean-Philippe Maes has been providing governance and risk management services to a wide banking and PFS audience over the last 12 years. He is a partner within PwC Luxembourg, where he leads the firm’s Banking and PFS Risk Advisory team. He chairs the Basel IV taskforce and is the lead advisor for CRD IV/CRR topics. Jean-Philippe has coordinated assignments in banking and PFS risk management topics such as stress testing, capital requirements and liquidity adequacy analysis, internal governance and operations, regulatory reporting and others. He is the holder of an MBA from Warwick Business School combined with the engineering background from previous studies.
