Objectifs

The long-awaited reform of the ELTIF regulation has been adopted by the Parliament on 15 Feb 2023. While not fulfilling all its promises, the new regulation improves the attractiveness of the ELTIF (European Long-Term Investment Fund) regime. By providing clarifications and removing some of the obstacles met with the ELTIF's 2015 iteration, AIMA expects this updated framework to result in an additional eur 100 billions in alternative assets funding over the 5 coming years.

This training is coordinated by Xavier Balthazar, Partner in charge of Regulatory Advisory, from PwC Luxembourg and Mathieu Scodellaro, Principal and head of investment funds at PwC Legal.

Xavier has a substantial expertise in financial sector and funds’ regulations. He participated to many set ups and restructurings of investments funds, management companies and professionals of the financial sector in Luxembourg and abroad, including the definition of their organisation, processes and procedures. He is also a regulatory compliance expert for depositary banks and fund administrations.

Mathieu is the head of the investment funds department and specialises in issues concerning investment funds, fund managers and the various service providers. Over the last 18 years, Mathieu has assisted numerous international clients in the setting-up, (re)structuring and handling of their organisation or projects. He regularly advises his clients on regulatory issues and in their relationships with the regulatory authorities.
