After an historical perspective and the presentation of key concepts, this course will detail the principles of the DNS protocol and its operations to perform domain name resolution. Participants will obtain a theoretical and practical knowledge of DNS zone management operations, with a focus on security.

The Domain Name System (DNS) is one of the core elements of the Internet making the link between a network of devices and the Internet, made for humans. This course proposes an introduction to the DNS with a focus on security (DNSSEC excepted) and an hands-on experience in the administation of a DNS domain name.
