Who is organising this training course?

I am a trilingual Learning Professional located in Luxembourg, with 30 years of experience and a proven track record in industry, academia and consulting. My observation is that technical skills get people hired, but the so-called soft-skills are what allows them to develop their maximum impact. My conviction is that people skills and managerial skills are learnable and teachable. My passion is making breakthrough learning happen through enjoyable training sessions and professional coaching.

What are the aims or the skills being targeted?

This session looks at bias as a fact of life and improves participants’ ability to:

  • Explain the paradox of bias
  • Understand how biases impact the way we interact and decide in the workplace
  • Be more aware of unconscious biases, including those built into our systems and processes

What does the training course cover?

  • Organizations want fair decisions, but people are not naturally objective. Our brains make rapid judgements about people and situations, often without conscious awareness. This bias can affect recruitment, promotion, performance evaluation and everyday collaboration. Awareness alone is not enough, but it is a useful starting point. Better awareness can reduce the influence of shortcuts and assumptions on important decisions.

What topics are addressed?

Agenda of the session:

  • Why bias is normal
  • Typical biases
  • How to live (and work) with biases
  • Practical ideas for your organisation

What teaching methods are used?

interactive, participative, informal

What course materials are provided?

Course materials are provided in pdf format after the training.
