Who is the training for?

The training courses are tailored to meet the needs of three distinct audiences:

Individuals seeking to acquire a solid foundation in Risk Management
Professionals who already possess a good understanding of the fundamentals and wish to deepen their practical knowledge across various types of risk
Experts with an advanced level of Risk Management knowledge looking to further enhance their expertise

Goals

Effective risk management has become a critical priority across the entire financial industry. Recognizing this growing need, the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL) and the House of Training have jointly developed a comprehensive Risk Management training programme. This programme offers a recognized professional qualification tailored not only for banking professionals, but also for managers and specialists from other areas of financial services who seek to build a strong foundation in risk management.

The programme consists of nine targeted courses, each designed to build specific knowledge and skills in risk management.

Participants’ understanding and professional competencies are assessed through written examinations based on the content of each course.

To get the Risk Management for Banks Specialist certification, candidates must complete 10 days of training and successfully pass the exam for each course.

New in 2025: This updated programme includes newly introduced courses, enhancing and expanding the content compared to previous editions.

Risk Management - Banking Regulatory Environment, Governance and Organisation (1 day)
Risk Management - Credit Risk for Banks (2 days)
Risk Management - Market Risk for Banks (1 day)
Risk Management - Liquidity Risk for Banks (1 day)
Risk Management - Operational and conduct Risks (2 days)
Risk Management - ESG (1 day)
Risk Management - Information Security, Data Protection and AI (0.5 day)
Risk Management - Soft Skills (0.5 day)

Evaluation

Exams are available for all those seeking to certifiy their experience through recognised certification.
