What are the prerequisites?

Successful completion of the module "IT Essentials" (C1522) or proof of equivalent certified knowledge.

What are the aims or the skills being targeted?

  • Apply structured troubleshooting methodologies to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and infrastructure issues in enterprise IT environments. 
  • Use enterprise IT support platforms, including ticketing systems, monitoring solutions, documentation platforms, remote support tools, and collaboration applications commonly used in modern organizations. 
  • Perform common enterprise IT support tasks such as user administration, basic Active Directory management, DNS and DHCP administration, virtual machine provisioning, and system configuration following established operational procedures. 
  • Investigate and resolve incidents by identifying root causes, analysing system behaviour, and implementing appropriate corrective actions. 
  • Manage support requests by prioritizing incidents, documenting activities, communicating with users, and following professional IT support workflows.
  • Operate confidently within realistic enterprise IT environments through scenario-based laboratories, integrated support simulations, and real-world operational exercises. 
  • Demonstrate professional communication, teamwork, documentation, and customer service skills expected of an entry-level IT Support Specialist. 
  • Develop the practical operational capability required to contribute effectively within enterprise IT support teams from the first day in an entry-level role.
