Omega 90 is the Luxembourg-based association dedicated to promoting palliative care and supporting bereavement. Since 1993, it has been offering continuous professional training for healthcare and psycho-socio-educational professionals. These training programs cover essential topics such as the principles of palliative care, ethics, communication, pain assessment and management, as well as the grieving process. By joining these programs, professionals enhance their skills to provide high-quality support to people at the end of life and their loved ones.

What are the aims or the skills being targeted?

Ce module se concentre sur des situations difficiles rencontrées dans le cadre des soins palliatifs, telles que vécues régulièrement dans le travail quotidien des soins.

What does the training course cover?

Dans un premier temps, la question suivante est abordée: qu'est-ce qu'une question éthique et en quoi se distingue-t-elle des questions organisationnelles, légales, personnelles...?

Une fois un problème éthique établi, la question se pose comment s’y prendre pour arriver à une bonne décision.

Dans un deuxième temps, la formation consiste à familiariser les participants avec la procédure des études de cas éthiques: quels outils existent pour favoriser une réflexion éthique? Des situations vécues sont discutées et analysées ensemble sur base des outils présentés lors de la spécialisation; des propositions de solutions sont élaborées et évaluées dans une perspective éthique.

Le module de spécialisation se bases sur les connaissances acquises lors de la formation de sensibilisation et d’approfondissement.
