In support of lifelong learning, EBU offers an exclusive 86% scholarship to all students with the code EBULLL25 which is applied during the enrolment process. Join a collaborative and constructivist learning environment via live Zoom, alongside students from over 60 countries.

Who is the training for?

  • Fund professionals — portfolio managers, fund administrators, and staff in Luxembourg's asset management industry
  • Compliance and regulatory officers
  • Institutional strategists and executives
  • Financial technology professionals
  • MBA/DBA students — in finance, fintech, or digital transformation

The course is explicitly positioned for people who need to lead this transition, not just understand it technically — making it more strategic than purely technical in its orientation.

Prerequisites

Introductory knowledge of Blockchain Technology, data systems or computer applications (recommended)

Goals

Luxembourg is at the quantum inflection point. As the EU's largest fund domicile — hosting €5.9 trillion in AUM — the race to tokenize funds, automate distribution, and build quantum-resilient infrastructure is no longer theoretical. Q day is coming.
This course examines the transformation of asset management at the intersection of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and emerging quantum technologies, with a strategic focus on Luxembourg and the European Union as global financial and regulatory leaders. As the world’s largest fund domicile accelerates toward tokenized funds, automated distribution, and sovereign digital infrastructure, participants develop the technical, operational, and policy literacy required to navigate and lead this transition.

Contents

Students explore the full lifecycle of tokenized assets, from architecture design and on-chain fund operations to DLT-based distribution and compliance frameworks. The course integrates applied AI for fund management, including regulatory automation, investor analytics, and portfolio optimization, while positioning AI as a critical bridge toward quantum-enabled financial systems. Core quantum computing concepts are introduced with direct relevance to asset management use cases such as risk modeling, optimization, and simulation.
Emphasizing EU regulatory frameworks, sovereign technology strategy, and quantum-resilient security, the course prepares participants to assess technological disruption and design forward-looking institutional strategies. Through case studies, applied exercises, and a capstone project, participants develop a strategic roadmap for building a quantum-ready asset management organization in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

Points covered

  • Analyze the transformation of asset management driven by blockchain, tokenization, and EU regulatory developments, with emphasis on Luxembourg’s ecosystem.
  • Design tokenized asset and fund architectures integrating industry standards, on-chain operations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate and apply digital distribution and operational models, incorporating DLT infrastructure and AI-enabled fund management processes.
  • Assess the strategic role of artificial intelligence as an enabler of advanced financial optimization and a bridge toward quantum capabilities.
  • Explain and apply core quantum computing concepts to financial use cases, including portfolio optimization, simulation, and risk modeling.
  • Develop strategic and technical approaches to quantum-resilient asset management, including post-quantum cryptography and institutional readiness.

Teaching methods

The online delivery blends synchronous and asynchronous components. Students complete self-directed assignments hosted on the course platform. Weekly Forums support a required active, rubric-based student contributions that foster collaboration.

Evaluation

Exams may include essays, short answers, or MCQs. Formats include open/closed book. Time zones are considered. Assessments are formative and summative. Students have 2 weeks to review grades and must follow the appeal process in the Student Handbook.
