Prerequisites

No technical prerequisites are required.

Participants should have a general understanding of their own work processes and should be willing to explore how AI could support everyday business tasks. Basic familiarity with office tools such as email, documents, spreadsheets, or presentation software is helpful but not mandatory.

Goals

At the end of this training, participants will be able to understand the essential concepts of artificial intelligence and identify how AI can support business activities in a practical, safe, and responsible way.

Participants will learn how to distinguish between traditional AI, generative AI, copilots, automation, and AI agents in plain business language. They will also be able to identify relevant AI use cases in their own roles, write more effective prompts, review AI-generated outputs critically, and apply basic responsible-use principles related to privacy, accuracy, bias, and human oversight.

The training aims to build confidence, not technical expertise, and to help participants define one or more realistic AI opportunities for their team or organisation.

Contents

This one-day training provides a practical introduction to artificial intelligence for business users. It starts with the fundamentals of AI and generative AI, then moves into business use cases, prompting techniques, responsible AI use, and practical adoption planning.

The programme covers how AI works at a high level, why AI outputs need to be reviewed, and how AI can support everyday work such as drafting, summarising, research preparation, meeting follow-up, reporting, customer communication, marketing, HR, finance, and operational tasks.

Participants will take part in demonstrations, prompt exercises, group discussions, and a practical workshop to identify a suitable AI use case and define a safe first pilot.
