Close Protection Officer (CPO)

Any individual holding a security agent training certificate or demonstrating experience in the fields of security and safety.

• Successfully pass the assessments and tests organized by Lapunti Securitis
• Be qualified to handle firearms
• Be bilingual: English/French
• Have a clean criminal record
• Provide a medical certificate confirming fitness for endurance and combat sports (required for pre-selection tests)
• Hold an APS training certificate (this training can be completed prior to the course at Lapunti Securitis)

• Ensure the protection of individuals and high-ranking officials (VIPs, politicians, journalists, or individuals requiring physical protection)
• Organize their escort and secure their professional or private travel
• Protect their daily lives or during events

• Legal and ethical framework of the profession
• Main principles of security, general information on APR
• Organization of a protection mission

Practice

• Foot escort techniques, alone or in a team
• Vehicle escort techniques
• Assault management and emergency evacuation
• Self-defense sports techniques specific to close-quarters security
• Terrorism
• Stress management
• Tactical shooting (48 hours)
• Real-life scenarios
