Children & Youth Sector - Application for validation of continuing training programmes
The validation of continuing training is an important element in ensuring quality in the non-formal training sector.
In accordance with Article 36 of the law of 24 April 2016 on youth, full-time members of staff at education and reception centres for children and youth services are required to attend at least 32 hours of continuing training over a two-year period.
For training to be recognised as falling within these compulsory continuing training hours, it must be validated in advance by the continuing training commission. Administrative management is handled by the validation office, comprising members of the commission. Validation depends on compliance with the national reference framework for the non-formal education of children and young people.
Validation procedure
As a rule it is the training provider that submits the application for validation of a continuing training programme in non-formal education. A nursery, a child care centre (maison relais) or a youth centre may only initiate an application if the validation is for internal training courses or for training courses offered by foreign training providers.
