New EPALE Magazine!
Epale - 11/05/2022
With this magazine, we want to inspire you to develop activities for adults with learning needs. The focus is on initiatives to improve basic skills through formal and informal education. This includes focusing on the skills needed to cope with health, education, work, learning and money management.
What's in this magazine?
This magazine offers six articles that cover a broad spectrum of support for language, math and digital skills. It focuses on basic skills for adult education, covering numeracy and literacy, as well as recruitment and access, legislation, assessment, client accountability and collaboration in various forms.
Learning Through Education
The six articles in this magazine are part of a series of articles that together form a guide for teachers and educators in adult education providers of training and courses. We made this selection to be translated and shared with the EPALE community. The other articles in the series are more focused on the Dutch context, while the selection in this magazine provides information and insights for contexts across national borders. If you are interested in the other articles (all in Dutch), you can take a look at https://oefenen.nl/kennisbank/leren-in-de-educatie/.
In addition to teachers, trainers and providers in adult education, these articles can also be used by (volunteer) facilitators in, for example, libraries, community centers and health centers and in the workplace. It is also important for managers, network partners, policy makers and grant makers (e.g. municipal officials), sponsors and clients to properly engage with learning adults who are more vulnerable.
