What are the aims or the skills being targeted?

This one-time workshop offers a gentle introduction to botanical drawing. Over the course of four hours, participants will learn how to observe and sketch a variety of plants and flowers, and then develop one of their drawings using watercolor.
We’ll begin with a few simple exercises to explore lines, shapes, and structures in plant forms. Participants will then choose the plant they wish to focus on and take time to draw and paint it in more detail.
Visual references and live plants will be provided to support observation and inspiration. No prior experience is required — the workshop is open to anyone who enjoys drawing or is curious to explore the beauty of the botanical world.
