Who is the training for?

Anyone wishing to take up a position in the world of rail or multimodal transport, as an operator or within a logistics service provider, in order to integrate the various services offered by all the players present.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of the module "Overview on the Logistics Sector" (C7000) or proof of equivalent certified knowledge.

Goals

  • Know the characteristics and specificities of rail transport:
  • The different actors and entities that govern this mode of transport, the activities and professions concerned.
  • The technical specificities of rail transport (rail network, means of traction, types of wagons, etc.) and combined rail-road transport (actors, terminals, transhipment technologies, intermodal transport units)
  • European and Luxembourg legislation in this field and the role of rail transport in an integrated and digitalized logistics chain.
  • Understand the economic needs of companies and foreign trade.
  • Know the different calculation techniques to optimize the loading of wagons, the regulatory constraints according to the nature of the transported goods, the specific terminology and the vocabulary related to rail transport.
  • Be able to choose the best transport solution to meet the customer's needs.
