Luxembourgish is the national language of Luxembourg.

Luxembourgish is also spoken in the Arelerland region of Belgium (part of the Province of Luxembourg) and in small parts of Lorraine in France.

With our Luxembourgish A1.1 Course, you can:

  • Introduce yourself and others
  • Talk about colors
  • Use numbers 1-20
  • Use the days of the week
  • Use simple greetings
  • Talk about professions
  • Talk about countries and where you live
  • Tell the time
  • Give your phone number and contact details
  • Talk about food and drinks

What does the training course cover?

  • Learn to communicate and exchange information in a simple way through basic questioning and using auxiliary verbs and other verbs very common in the present tense.
  • Understand simple answers and general ideas in a context.
  • Be able to recognize language sounds correctly, read and spell separate words or related words.
  • Vocabularies.
  • Expressions of everyday life.
  • Practical exercises.
  • Grammar.

What teaching methods are used?

Methodology and course content: listen, practice diction, study and write on another medium (notebook or computer) to learn and memorize the content.

How is the assessment organised?

Test of acquired knowledge.

During the last week of the course, the exam will be posted for completion.

The online course is available 24 hours a day and can be taken at a time that suits you.

CECRL - Level A1: what are we talking about?

Anyone who has reached this level:

  1. Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
  2. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people
  3. he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is
  4. prepared to help.
