It is also suitable for newly appointed managers who want to quickly structure their managerial posture, routines and day-to-day practices.

Prerequisites

Participants should already be in a managerial role, either hierarchical or functional, with actual responsibility for at least one of the following areas:

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Clarify their managerial posture in a professional services environment by strengthening their leadership, impact and credibility
  • Structure their day-to-day management practices through a clear framework, effective routines and appropriate feedback techniques
  • Delegate without compromising quality and manage activity with greater visibility over progress, priorities and risks
  • Develop team members by adapting their management style to different profiles, needs and situations
  • Manage a portfolio of assignments and projects by prioritising effectively, securing deadlines and handling client relationships throughout the engagement
  • Work on a real managerial situation from their own context and turn it into a practical action plan

Contents

Day 1: Building a strong managerial signature

  • Creating trust in the managerial relationship
  • Understanding one’s managerial impact: strengths, limitations and triggers
  • Adapting one’s posture to different situations and team member profiles
  • Setting a clear framework: ground rules, expectations, responsibilities and boundaries
  • Giving feedback without damaging the relationship
  • Addressing issues without emotional escalation
  • Standing by decisions with both team members and clients

Deliverable: a personal management manifesto including managerial signature, commitments and routines.

Day 2: Structuring team performance

  • Setting up effective management routines
  • Allocating workload and monitoring team progress
  • Anticipating deadlines and securing execution
  • Delegating with clear expectations, defined levels of autonomy and appropriate checkpoints
  • Giving useful, actionable feedback
  • Developing team members: development needs, upskilling and adapting management style to profiles
  • Managing demanding or sensitive individual situations
  • Providing direction through an annual or multi-year vision, clear objectives and shared priorities

Deliverable: a practical toolkit of management routines and templates for objectives, one-to-ones, feedback and development.

Day 3: Managing a portfolio of assignments and projects

  • Prioritising workload across assignments
  • Managing urgency and workload peaks
  • Delegating while securing expectations and control points
  • Monitoring assignment progress across four key dimensions: quality, timing, risks and relationship
  • Managing the client relationship during the assignment: communication, posture and prevention of friction points
  • Securing next deadlines and embedding performance in a continuous improvement mindset

Deliverable: a practical Mission Cockpit including routines and operational templates.
