What are the aims or the skills being targeted?

Latin is the root of all modern science, and half of the English vocabulary is made up of Latin words or Latin roots. Two very good reasons to learn Latin to start! Add to that that fact is also the language of law, politics, logic and theology (think pro bono, veto, referendum), and now you have enough reason to thwart the argument of : "But isn't Latin dead Language?"

A knowledge of Latin and its universal grammatical rules is an excellent foundation for any other language you wish to learn. A basic knowledge of Latin reduces the work and learning difficulties of almost all other languages.

Add to that it's very cool to be able to join in all those Latin references mentioned like caveat emptor (buyer beware), it's definitely time to carpe diem (seize the day) and get some Latin basics !

Learn Latin, the super cool root of most languages, science, law, theology, besides being the basis for half of the English language!
