What are the aims or the skills being targeted?

Flemish is one of the three official languages in Belgium. The word Flemish referred to the language spoken in Flanders, but nowadays is often used to refer to all varieties of Dutch spoken in Belgium.

Learn the language of famous Flemish painters, such as Reubens, Breugel and the Van Eyck. The color and logic of the language are a mirror of this awe-inspiring art - vibrant with incredible technical skill.

Did you know? The good news is that Flemish is very similar to Dutch, with a different and softer sound and intonation, but virtually the same words. Two languages for the effort of one!

What does the training course cover?

Learn to communicate and exchange information in a simple way by asking basic questions and using auxiliary verbs and other verbs very common in the present tense.
Understand simple answers and general ideas in a context.
Be able to recognize language sounds correctly, read and spell separate words or related words.

Identify the alphabet and sounds
Introduce yourself and others
Talk about colors
Use the numbers 1-100
Use days and months
Use simple greetings
Talk about professions
Talk about your family and tell the time

CECRL - Level A1: what are we talking about?

Anyone who has reached this level:

Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people
he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is
prepared to help.
