The event will also consider the accessibility of microcredentials for disadvantaged learners and workers. This is particularly relevant for the EPALE community. The flexibility associated with microcredentials could open learning opportunities to adults for whom longer programmes are difficult to access because of employment, caring responsibilities or other circumstances. At the same time, flexibility alone does not guarantee inclusion. Questions of guidance, affordability, recognition, quality and progression remain important if microcredentials are to become meaningful parts of lifelong learning pathways rather than isolated certificates.
