Quality criterion

Definition

In education and training, distinctive mark (or characteristic) for assessing the quality of an education and training system or of the education and training activities of an organisation.

Comment:

  • Quality criteria should be supplied with one or several indicators depending on the complexity of the criteria;
  • the four quality criteria to be used when implementing EQAVET are:
    • planning reflects a strategic vision shared by relevant stakeholders and includes explicit objectives, actions and indicators;
    • implementation plans are devised in consultation with stakeholders and include explicit principles;
    • evaluation of outcomes and processes is regularly carried out and supported by measurement;
    • review of processes.
