  • Listen to and imitate the pronunciation of English sounds

  • Respond to questions with short sentences and simple expressions
  • Participate in role-plays in different contexts using short sentences and simple expressions
• Listening comprehension
  • Understand simple and very common tasks and instructions in the classroom context, especially with the help of images or gestures
  • Identify known words, names, and numbers in simple and short listening texts if they are spoken slowly and clearly
  • Use listening strategies and techniques. Know how to show a lack of understanding
  • Evaluate texts using learned phrases (I like, I don’t like, I prefer...)
• Reading comprehension
  • Read and understand very short and simple sentences. Try to read unfamiliar words and expressions
  • Understand meaning from illustrations
  • Identify isolated words in a sentence or very short text in response to very simple questions
  • Reconstruct simple and short sentences using word cards
• Writing
  • Write correctly by copying very common words (names, animals, objects)
  • Check if words and sentences are understandable
  • Use the most common spellings (a, an, the, then, than, etc.)
