Classical Secondary School Leaving Diploma (Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires classiques) - DFESC
Humanities and social sciences - modern section G

Adults who wish to complete their initial training or start studying again can obtain the Classical Secondary School Leaving Diploma in humanities and social sciences - modern section G (English).

The diploma may be obtained by attending evening classes, distance learning classes (eBac) or daytime classes. The modern section G is the only section of classical secondary education accessible via continuing training .

The evening classes are held at the Athénée de Luxembourg.

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 17,
  • Have passed the 4e class of Luxembourg classical secondary education,
  • Have the required proficiency in German, French and English.

Blended learning - eBac

Structure of classes Academic institution
4e C and 3e CG to 1re CG classes

eBac courses only concern 4e C and
3e CG to 1re CG classes (humanities and and social sciences).

The courses are offered in blended learning mode.

  • 75% of classes are held at a distance via the Internet
  • 25% are given face-to-face at the secondary school.

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 16,
  • Have passed the 4e class of Luxembourg classical secondary education,
  • Have the required proficiency in German, French and English.

Those who have not passed the 4e class can access the eBac option if they submit full details of their studies and work experience.
Applicants may commence eBac studies at the start of each new 'session', of which there are six each year.

Daytime classes - ENAD

Structure of classes Academic institution
5e C to 4e C and 3e CG to 1re CG classes

The classes are held at the ENAD and are available as continuous daytime education, with 32 to 36 lessons per week.

The ENAD offers 5e C and 4e C as well as 3e CG to 1re CG classes.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old for the 5e c class and at least 17 years for the other classes offered.
