Do not be fooled by the similarity of the name of this language to "Slovak". Although they are both Slavic languages, they are quite unintelligible. While both languages derive "Slov" in their names from "Slavic", Slovene, or Slovene, it is considered a South Slavic language with languages such as Croatian, Serbian, Bulgarian, and Macedonian.
Slovenians consider Slovene a "lovebird's language" due to the presence of a double grammatical form distinct from regular plural forms. The language is relatively easy to read and write as the words are pronounced as spelled for the most part. However, grammar can be tricky so be careful!
