Goals

Regulation, or more precisely the absence of a globally harmonised comprehensive regulatory framework, has long been cited as one of the most important missing pieces of the digital assets industry. Faced with landscape fragmentation and regulatory arbitrage, the industry developed at variable pace and quality levels across the world. With upcoming harmonisation of the regulatory landscape in the EU, expectations are high in terms of customers protection and market integrity enhancement. Through this session, you will get familiar with the latest development and upcoming regulatory requirements of the industry in the EU.

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • obtain a global overview of the current and upcoming digital assets regulatory landscape in the EU;
  • understand the current requirements imposed to markets participants dealing with digital assets in Luxembourg;
  • have a clear overview of the crypto-assets markets and pilot regime regulation provisions.

Contents

  • Overview of the EU digital assets regulatory landscape
  • Digital assets management regulatory considerations
  • Detailed overview of the crypto-assets markets and pilot regime regulations
  • Open discussion on practical considerations
