Goals

In a constantly changing legal and regulatory environment, PwC's Academy along with the experts has designed this course to help you understand the fundamentals of the regulatory frameworks of the UCITS and AIFM directives. It will highlight how these EU-wide regulations have shaped the fund industry and the way asset managers utilise them to market and distribute their products around the globe.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • describe the basic elements and benefits of the UCITS and AIFM regulations;
  • understand the passporting approach of both directives, and how asset managers offer their funds in multiple jurisdictions;
  • identify the various entities involved in the fund distribution lifecycle;

Additional information

This training is coordinated by Robert Glover, Partner and Benjamin Reis, Director at PwC Luxembourg.
The training will be presented by experts in the regulatory and operational aspects of fund distribution, for both traditional and alternative funds.

Robert is an Advisory partner in PwC Luxembourg’s Global Fund Distribution competency.
This unit is responsible for advising asset managers on regulatory requirements and strategy for distribution of their funds in Europe and more globally.
He is also specialised in cross-border fund distribution for UCITS and AIFs (including the regulatory, tax and operational requirements as well as the issues affecting them).

Benjamin is a director specialising in Advisory for Asset and Wealth Management Global Fund Distribution.
Benjamin has expertise in distribution oversight, regulatory compliance, and distributor due diligence. He also supports asset managers to navigate through the complexities of fund distribution since 2014.
