Objectifs

Electronic archiving is currently a hot topic in Luxembourg. The government's willingness to make the country a "European safe of digital data" has given birth not only to datacentres which are among the most sophisticated in the world, but also to the concept of PSDC (digitisation or archiving service providers).

Indeed, a legislation (the only one of its kind in the world) about these service providers was established by the Luxembourg. It is based on ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27002, which are the main standards in the information security field. This technical regulation lays the foundation for a vision of the digitisation and electronic archiving. It above all provides companies with an opportunity to be certified and recognised as a provider who complies with the best practices for digitisation of analogue sensitive information, and also for the preservation of business critical digital information (we then talk about records).
In regards with the digital and data storage aspects, the European regulation eIDAS (electronic IDentification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market) about the digital identity and its services gives unique perspectives of process simplification, nevertheless a lot of questions remains.

Despite the existing electronic tools, paper still has an important role in our society, as it is still considered by many companies as the main communication mean (internal and external). Digitisation and electronic archiving are tools that may seem out of reach due to their perceived complexity for sensitive information (contracts or records).

Contenu

However, digital revolution can happen. In order to help you understand these challenges, PwC’s Academy is pleased to offer you this training which will present an overview of the digitisation and electronic sensitive information archiving. This training will describe the technical regulation regarding PSDC and the eIDAS regulation. A huge part of the course will be dedicated to questions or discussions regarding the typical difficulties which may be encountered in such kind of projects.

The bonus: An advocate specialised in new technologies will be present to talk about and answer to your legal questions regarding PSDC and eIDAS. A demonstration about the contribution of digital signature in dematerialised processes will also be performed.

By the end of this course, participants should acquire general knowledge of the principles and processes of digitisation and electronic archiving with a focus on the concept of the PSDC (at a legal and organisational level) and acquire comprehension of digital signature contribution and services covered by the European regulation eIDAS.
