This training programme addresses IFRS issues related to real estate vehicles, focusing on key areas associated with the accounting of such vehicles.

The training incorporates practical examples and case studies catering participants who are responsible for the accounting of real estate structures in accordance with IFRS. It is intended for individuals who possess a basic knowledge and understanding of both IFRS and real estate structures.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

This training will be coordinated by Frank Ballmann, Philippe Foerster and Ionela Poenaru.

Frank is an Assurance Partner at PwC Luxembourg with over 15 years of experience. He is expert in IFRS and Lux GAAP for real estate and asset management (including consolidation). He is member of the real estate technical team and member of German country working team. He is a qualified Luxembourg réviseur d’entreprises agréé, Luxembourg expert comptable and wirtschaftsprüfer.

Philippe is the IFRS leader for PwC Luxembourg and a partner in the Assurance practice. With over 20 years of experience serving financial and multinational institutions by providing audit and advisory services, he is a member of various PwC International IFRS working groups, including GACS (Global Accounting and Consulting Services), Financial Instruments Topical Team (FITT), and Corporate Treasury Technical Committee (CTTC). Philippe played a crucial role in developing our global guide: Hedge Accounting in Practice.

Philippe graduated from HEC-University of Liège-Belgium. He is a qualified “réviseur d’entreprises” in Luxembourg.

Ionela, Director, belongs to different PwC Global groups such as Global Accounting Consultancy Services (GACS), CMAAS (Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services). During her 8 years of experience within the IFRS team, she has performed IFRS impact analysis in the context of various complex transaction like business combinations, group restructuring, refinancing, hedge accounting, tax structuring. She has developed tailored training solutions for large clients and has robust experience in reviewing financial statements and analysing the impact of IFRS for first-time adopters and existing preparers.
