Diplom+ course
Diplom+ is a short, flexible course for young people who have obtained the diploma for the successful completion of secondary education (classical or general), a technician's diploma or equivalent and are not yet enrolled for higher education and are not in employment.
Once they have completed their secondary education or the technician's training, young people have to make a number of important choices: they have to decide whether to go on to higher education or start looking for a job.
The Diplom+ course delivers additional skills (in IT, project management, communication techniques, time management, team spirit and taking initiative) and increases the chances of finding a job or successfully completing higher studies.
The course lasts two semesters, with a maximum of 25 hours per week, spread over five hours a day, five days a week.
In general, the course is delivered in Luxembourgish and French.
- The first semester comprises a number of shared modules and two to six option modules:
- The aim of the second semester is to reinforce the skills acquired in an innovation project consisting of the development as a team of a product or service from design to completion; the project is supervised by professional mentors.
Participants may leave the course at any time if they get a job, start a course in higher education, or change direction.
A certificate is awarded for each module completed before leaving the course (certificate of successful completion if at least 80% of the module has been attended and the oral or written assessment is positive), and this module can thus be valued subsequently.
